The “MoveOnUp” initiative is a collaborative project aimed at enhancing the lives of individuals with Parkinson’s disease through innovative digital solutions. Spearheaded by the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science in Portugal, the project brings together a consortium of esteemed institutions, including the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in Greece and Young Parkies Portugal (YP). Egas Moniz, renowned for its commitment to health education and research, contributes its expertise in public health and interdisciplinary studies. AUTH, the largest university in Greece, offers substantial research capabilities and international collaborations, with its School of Informatics playing a pivotal role in the project. YP, a relatively new organization established in 2021, focuses on supporting young individuals with Parkinson’s through various programs like “Parkie Talks” and “Active Parkies.” Together, these organizations aim to develop and implement an 8-week digital exercise program grounded in the COM-B model, combining physical movement with cognitive challenges to address Parkinson’s symptoms. The project also includes a 28-hour accredited training for healthcare professionals and caregivers, emphasizing evidence-based exercise and remote coaching techniques
